Fall Winter 2024 Backyard Entertainment & Gift Ideas

Wherever you are with your backyard landscape project, small investments can help turn your yard or patio into the best entertainment spot in the neighborhood.  These additions to your backyard – or even your front yard – will keep the fun flowing for outdoor entertaining. We’ve even included links to some of the products mentioned* to help get you started,

Outdoor movie screen

Movies are always a great way to entertain a group of kids, or to project your favorite sports event as a backdrop to your next BBQ!  The options are endless, from inflatable screens to tension screens – such as the one pictured from Elite Screens. Be sure to pair your purchase with a projector that works with your screen size.

Cornhole & outdoor games

A traditional tailgate favorite, cornhole is the first backyard game that comes to mind whether you are a Georgia Bulldog or an Auburn Tiger – it’s a perfect way to spend time waiting for your favorite SEC game to kick off! If cornhole isn’t your game, there are so many other options from badminton to volleyball, horseshoes, and – one of our favorites – a little putting practice on your backyard putting green!

Speakers

You can go with a portable speaker from any number of companies, such as Sonos or Bose, for the flexibility of using indoors or when you want to turn your backyard into a party! Or install permanent outdoor speakers as part of a larger backyard oasis landscape project.

Ways to warm up your backyard Entertainment areas

Even when the weather turns chilly, you can create a warm and welcoming backyard party place.  For those living in the South, adding these backyard features will keep the fun coming all year round!

A portable bonfire or a permanent fire pit

You’ve probably seen the ads for the Solo Stove portable bonfire, it can really bring the heat for your outdoor gathering. Or maybe you want something that blends in with your backyard setting. Installing a beautiful, custom stacked-stone fire pit will provide a gorgeous gathering spot for those chilly fall and winter nights. If a custom project isn’t in your plans, you can visit a nearby hardware store or go online to find a variety of prefabricated fire pits.

Other BackYard Warm-Up ideas include:
  • Outdoor heaters
  • Clear vinyl panels which you can attach to your porch
  • Sunbrella or other outdoor fabric curtain panels
